Our Standards

1.WORK ONLY WITH FAIR TRADE PRODUCERS

We do not require all of our producers to be certified Fair Trade however all producers must follow Fair Trade standards. This means partnering with producers who are:

  • Creating Opportunities for Economically Disadvantaged Producers
  • Providing Transparency and Accountability
  • Maintaining long term relationships with producers
  • Ensuring Payment of a Fair Price ( based on local standards that enable production to be Socially and Environmentally Sound. Equal pay of Men and Women)
  • Supporting Non-Discrimination, Gender Equity and Freedom of Association
  • Creating Safe and Healthy Working Conditions
  • Promoting Producers Independence and Creating Access to New Markets
  • Promoting Fair Trade
  • Using Responsible Environmental Methods of Production

2.USE NATURAL AND SUSTAINABLE  FABRICS

Currently we only work with natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, wool, cupro, linen etc. Our current project is to be more environmentally conscious, working with sustainable and recycled fabric. We are always looking into fabrication options that suit the needs of our brand, while incorporating, and revitalizing the hand crafts of our producers.

3.USE OF RECYCLED AND SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

We are conscious of all the packaging that comes along with clothing, we do our best to minimize waste and make sure our packaging is sustainable.

4.MAINTAINING BRAND TRANSPARENCY

At Peoples product it is very important to us that we provide full brand transparency. From the designers in Toronto, to our Makers around the world. You can learn about the brand and the product on our website, and we are more then happy to answer any questions you have that are not covered.

** we are always trying to improve, and as we grow, and have the capacity,  we will do better!
